Attached to this circular is a sample copy of the new membership application form.   This is brought to the attention of members for information and to Branch Officials for action in the event of a current non-member seeking to join the union.  There are a number of changes to the form which are self-explanatory.

The FBU has reacted fiercely to the continued waste of millions of taxpayer pounds, exposed by a BBC freedom of information request, in the empty "regional fire control" whilst Government cuts front line services in the name of "austerity".

South West FBU Official Tam McFarlane said "How dare politicians impose budget cuts on frontline services in the name of “austerity” whilst pouring tax payers money down the drain due to their own, failed, projects. We, along with every other taxpayer, demand that someone is held responsible for this political mismanagement!"
