Update from Wiltshire FBU regarding the campaign against cuts in the frontline Service

Last Friday, the 28th September the brigade officials sat with management to discuss a way forward for the negotiations. Present were Tony Littler, Brent Thorley, John Aldridge, Barbara Owen and Julian Parsons.

The meeting was constructive and professional however no agreement was reached over the make up of our negotiating team and the management asked for an adjournment to seek further advice....A further meeting has been pencilled in for the 12th of October where we are hopeful that we can move forward.

While the service were taking further advice we sought advice from the FBU side of the National Joint Council and from solicitors. We have been assured we are on a sound footing by insisting that it was for the Wiltshire Brigade committee to decide the makeup of our negotiating team. Therefore our position remains that the negotiating team will consist of the Brigade Secretary, Brigade Chair and Regional Secretary. We are hopeful and confident that formal Negotiations will begin soon.
