On 10th July Firefighters will join with thousands of workers across the South West who going on strike over pay and pensions. The FBU will join with members of the GMB, NUT, PCS, UNISON and Unite members who have all voted to take action. Since the government took office in 2010, pay for local government workers has fallen by 18% and more than 400,000 jobs have disappeared.
There will be picket lines across the South West, outside schools, Fire stations, libraries, leisure centres, tax offices etc.There are also plans for rallies in towns and cities across the South West and we are asking all FBU members to take part and march under their local FBU banner at the rally nearest to their area.
