LOBBYING FOR THE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - 7TH NOVEMBER
The Chancellor, George Osborne has announced that he will make his Autumn Statement on 5 December. The decisions made by the Chancellor will impact on every Fire and Rescue Service in the UK and could have a big impact on every Firefighter & Emergency Fire Control operator in the Country.
It’s for this reason that the Fire Brigades Union has called a national lobby of Parliament on 7 November. Our aim is to get FBU Members from every constituency to travel to Parliament and speak to their individual MPs on the day and raise their concerns.
To support you a great deal of information has been provided in the latest issue of Firefighter magazine and the Union has also produced the attached briefing document which can be used by every single Member to raise the issues with their MP. Transport is being laid on across the Region and you should contact your local FBU rep for further details (the contact numbers and email addresses of local Officials are available on the “Contact Your Rep” button on the home page of this site).
Please come and have your say on the future of our Service: This is your opportunity to travel directly to Parliament and raise the concerns of the professionals in the Fire & Rescue Service!
