Members have been informed of the result of the ballot for industrial action short of a strike. That ballot was in addition to the previous ballot for strike action which did not include control members.
As the person authorised to make the call for industrial action, I now confirm that this discontinuous industrial action will commence and terminate at the times and on the dates specified below:
Commencing 2nd May 2014 from 12.00 hours until 2nd May 2014 at 17.00 hours– strike action (firefighters in England and Wales).

Commencing 4th May 2014 from 10.00 hours until 4th May 2014 at 15.00 hours – strike action (firefighters in England and Wales).
Commencing 4th May 2014 from 15.00 hours until 9th May 2014 at 12.00 hours – industrial action short of a strike, namely a refusal to undertake a voluntary overtime, non contractual overtime or additional voluntary hours (firefighters in England and Wales).

These are the times/dates/details which have been determined upon. We hope the matter will be resolved shortly. If not, further dates/details in respect of this ongoing industrial action will be notified once determined. Members in England, Scotland and Wales are now called upon to take industrial action on and not earlier than the dates and times specified above and on any further dates to be so notified.
NB. Control member includes those who have been transferred from control duties but remain eligible for the same pension schemes as control members.
Best wishes.
Yours fraternally,
MATT WRACK
General Secretary
