Dear Brother/Sister,

Discussions have been ongoing with the Scottish Government and the Scottish Fire Service employers on the issue of pensions.  The latest draft of the design for the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme in Scotland, to be introduced from April 2015 (The 2015 Scheme), has been sent to ‘stakeholders’ for consideration.

The Union is currently carrying out a consultation with the Scottish members on proposals from the Scottish Government and the Scottish Fire Service employers.  This consultation will finish on 8 October 2013 when the Executive Council will consider the outcome.  The draft design is available on the FBU website www.fbu.org.uk

Members should continue to attend branch meetings and read circulars in order to receive up to date information on pensions and other issues.
