FATAL INCIDENT – GREATER MANCHESTER – BROTHER STEPHEN HUNT
It is with great regret that I have to inform you that our member, Brother Stephen Hunt died during an incident at Oldham Street, Manchester city centre on the evening of Saturday 13 July 2013.
Stephen was a member in Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service.
I know that members will join me in sending condolences to Stephen’s family, friends and colleagues at such a terrible time.
We have already taken steps to ensure that legal assistance is provided to Stephen’s family as necessary.
Following a visit to the Brigade and to the scene of the incident, measures are also being put in place to ensure that the incident is subject to a full investigation.
Further details, including details of funeral arrangements as appropriate, will be circulated in due course.
